Deposit guarantee scheme

We have developed a support package for landlords who will accept tenants referred by us. The Deposit Guarantee Scheme aims to reduce the risk of financial loss or damage to landlords and so encourage lettings to council nominated tenants. The scheme forms part of the council's strategy to tackle housing need and prevent homelessness.

The benefits

The scheme offers the following to landlords:

free lettings service
rent direct to landlords
14 day housing benefit assessments
guarantee of up to £2000 against damage to the property
free video inventories
dedicated Scheme Manager to offer advice and support
housing advice service to offer assistance to resolve tenant and landlord disputes
Resettlement Service to help tenants settle into their new home
legal tenancy agreement

access to approved contractors for any works that may be required

For your property to be included on our landlords database and considered for a referral through the Deposit Guarantee Scheme you must:

complete and return the Landlord and Property Details Form

and include a copy of your:

Gas Safety Certificate
Energy Performance Certificate
current Electrical Certificate
