Supported tenancy guarantee scheme

We have developed a support package for landlords willing to accept tenants referred by Slough Borough Council. The Supported Tenancy Guarantee Scheme (STGS) aims to reduce the risk of financial loss or damage to landlords and there by encourage lettings to council nominated tenants.

The scheme forms part of the council’s strategy for tackling housing need and preventing homelessness.

What the scheme offers to landlords:

• An exclusive and free lettings service
• Housing Benefit payments direct  to you ( where eligible)
• A guarantee of payment to an agreed limit against any proven deliberate loss or damage (other than normal wear and tear) to fixtures ,fittings and furnishings
• Avoidance of court costs and possession action where ever possible
• A dedicated housing benefit assessor to deal with all enquiries about properties let through the scheme for the first 3 months of the tenancy
• A fast track housing benefit assessment to ensure speedy and efficient rent payment for those tenants who are eligible for payment
• A dedicated private rented coordinator to let your home and offer advice and support throughout the tenancy
• A legal tenancy agreement
• A detailed inventory list
