When considering an application for a sex establishment licence the council may only use the following criteria:
I) The suitability of the applicant
II) Whether the person applying is a "front" person for someone else
III) The location and situation of the premises in relation to other premises in the area
IV) Whether the number of sex establishments in that locality is equal to, or exceeds the number which the council considers appropriate for the area.
To apply for a licence, you will need to download, complete and return the 'Application for a Sex Establishment Licence' form. You will also need to enclose an application fee of £1,450 with your application.
The licence is renewable annually. To renew the licence you will need to download, complete and return the 'Sex establishment application for renewal, transfer or variation' form. You will also need to enclose a renewal fee of £1,450.
