The aim of the reparation order is for young people to repair some of the harm caused when they have broken the law. The Youth Offending Team (YOT) works with young people so they can pay back either the person their offences hurt or the wider community.
The court orders the young person to complete a programme of reparation over a three month period. Each reparation order has a different work programme, depending on the offence committed, needs of the victim and needs of the young person. The reparation order is case managed by a YOT case manager, with the help of specialist workers. The overall aim of the reparation order is for the young person to refrain from further offending.
Reparation Programmes
Community and indirect reparation programmes are available to young people six days a week from 9am – 5pm. Reparation placement providers that the YOT are currently working with include:
All proceeds are donated to charity.
Slough YOT is currently developing projects for young offenders to work at Black Park and Crossroads.
