Work has now begun on the preparation of a Site Allocations Development Plan Document. This will form part of the Local Development Framework (LDF), and seek to allocate sites that help implement the Core Strategy.
The Core Strategy sets out a vision and spatial strategy for the Borough of Slough which is intended to guide how it will be planned up to 2026. This envisages that most new development will be concentrated in Slough town Centre. The strategy also identifies places in the Borough where there is the need for comprehensive regeneration in order to spread the benefits that new investment can bring.
We know about major regeneration sites such as the Heart of Slough, but it is important for us that we also hear from other people, organisations and voluntary groups if they know of sites across the Borough of Slough that might be suitable for development or change of use, or that could be better used or protected by being re-zoned or designated.
Any approach we take must follow rules set by the Government, for example:
In making our decisions we use methods which try to be inclusive, transparent and based on evidence.
If you know of somewhere please let us know by filling out a site allocation response form and returning it to us by the 1st August 2008. You can download a copy of the response form below. Or you can complete a do it online form, also found below.
If you would like more information please feel free to contact us on 01753 47 7341 or email planningpolicy@slough.gov.uk.
We have produced a Scoping report for the Site Allocations Development Plan Document which is the first stage of a Sustainability Appraisal. The Scoping report sets out a framework for assessing the sites against social, economic and environmental objectives.A copy of the Scoping report can be downloaded below. This carries forward the Scoping report for the Core Strategy.
It is proposed that all the sites that are put forward will be published for public consultation along with a possible method to determine which sites we should look at in more detail. This will take place later on in the year and help us decide which ones would benefit from having specific proposals for them included in the final document.
