A priority list for all transport schemes, which includes road safety schemes to help improve safety for all road users was set up in November 2007.
Specific areas on the Farnham Road have been identified on the current list requiring improvements based on the types of collisions occurring. These included collisions between vehicles and also pedestrians crossing inappropriately.
To address these problems some works were proposed for road safety improvements to the pedestrian crossing south of Gloucester Avenue and the traffic lights at the junction with Edinburgh Avenue and Sheffield Road. We had the proposals on our consultation portal and residents were able to give feedback until 3 April 2009.
