Childcare Supervisor

£16,887 to £18,735 per annum (pro rata according to hours worked)

Various posts available, full-time, term-time only, part time, before school, after school and school holidays.

Slough Sure Start Service is part of the education and children’s services directorate within Slough Borough Council. We are very pleased to be involved in the creation of new children’s centres across the town, which will provide a range of services within local neighbourhoods to families with young children. Three centres have already been built and a fourth is due to be completed in November. Further centres are planned for the future.

We are, therefore, seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated childcare professionals with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to a number of exciting posts within our service.

The centres manage a local authority children’s centre, providing high quality day care and ‘wrap around’ childcare for babies and children from 3 months to 5 years and out of school hours childcare for primary school children.

As a childcare supervisor, you will lead a small team of staff providing quality play and childcare for children from 4.5 to 12 years in a local authority childcare setting. You will work closely with the childcare co-ordinator to promote and market the setting, ensuring its long-term sustainability.

We are looking for someone who is able to work flexibly either after school or before school, or during holiday times. You should hold an NVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare or play work, with evidence of continued professional development.
