2017.02.08 Recall: Great Northern Sandwich Co Chicken Products

The following notice has been issued by the Food Standards Agency:

Great Northern Sandwich Co Ltd is recalling various products containing chicken because of a blue discolouration on the meat. The discolouration may indicate that the products are unfit for human consumption.

'Use By' date: all dates up to and including 10 February

Product: Spar & Honest Crust Chicken Salad Sandwich
Use-by date: all dates up to and including 10 February

Product: Spar & Honest Crust Chicken Stuffing Sandwich
Use-by date: all dates up to and including 10 February

Product: GNS Triple BLT/Chicken Salad/Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Use-by date: all dates up to and including 10 February

Product: GNS Chicken/Pesto/Tomato Sub Roll
Use-by date: all dates up to and including 10 February

Product: GNS Chicken/Bacon/Mayo Sub Roll
Use-by date: all dates up to and including 10 February

No other Great Northern Sandwich products are known to be affected.

Risk
The products contain chicken that may be unfit for human consumption.

Our advice to consumers
If you have bought any of the above products do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Action taken by the company
Great Northern Sandwich Co Ltd is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.
