2017.03.14 Recall: Kernow Eton Mess Chocolate and Lemon Meringue Chocolate

The following notice has been issued by the Food Standards Agency:

Kernow Chocolate is recalling its Eton Mess Chocolate and Lemon Meringue Chocolate bars, because they contain undeclared egg which is not mentioned on the label. This means these products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

Best-before dates between: 29 March 2017 and 08 December 2017

Product: Kernow Chocolate Lemon Meringue Bar
Pack size: 95g
Best-before dates between: 22 March 2017 and 06 December 2017

No other Kernow Chocolate products are known to be affected.

Allergens: egg

These products contain undeclared egg making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

Our advice to consumers
If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to egg do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Action taken by the company
Kernow Chocolate is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has been advised to issue a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
