Role of the Board

The role of the Older People’s Partnership Board is to scrutinise and support the implementation of Slough’s Commissioning Strategy for Older People, ensuring the views of older people in Slough are heard, valued and acted upon.


  • Work to prevent the isolation of older people in Slough
  • Promote the value and positive contribution older people make to the community
  • Support the prevention of isolation by ensuring accessible transport is available for older people to attend activities in their communities
  • Increase and encourage joint working between all providers, groups and Slough Borough Council
  • Share information about available activities, groups, sessions and services with wider agencies
  • Enable older people to feel safe and supported at home and in the community
  • Promote understanding of older people to improve the communication skills of staff and to promote intergenerational relationships
  • Create and develop innovative opportunities and ways of working through co-production
