How we assess your application
We assess your application based on your current circumstances.
We will place you into one of three priority bands:
- Band A: urgent or exceptional need to move
- Band B: less urgent need to move. You meet our additional preference criteria
- Band C: you are in a group which must be given some priority. This is called reasonable preference. You do not meet our additional preference criteria.
In 2020, the average wait for families in Band B who need a 3 bedroom house was 6 years. If you think you will qualify for Band B or C, consider your other options, such as private housing.
