Administrative Officer (Parks, Open Spaces and Allotments) (Ref: 07-1009)

We are looking for a full time and permanent Administrative Officer to support the work of the Parks Open Spaces and Allotments team in Slough. People are proud to live and work in Slough where diversity is celebrated and where residents can enjoy fulfilling prosperous and healthy lives.

The parks team look after over 70 Parks and Open Spaces, 13 allotment sites and 100 play areas, green gyms and Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs) in Slough. We are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives. You will provide administrative support working closely with the local community, the many friends of parks groups, volunteers and the parks staff. This business support will involve a variety of duties including daily contact with the public, the management of information systems and visits out on site. In particular we are looking for someone who can help administer the allotments in partnership with the Slough Allotment Federation and the parks team.

In this exciting opportunity you will need experience of providing office administration/service support services, working effectively with a range of professional staff and external agencies and maintaining computerised and manual information management systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills working with local communities, supporting a small team of professionals and using a variety of computer programmes and social media. Training is provided to ensure staff are familiar with all the bespoke information systems.
