I have worked at SBC for 15 years and am currently the Active Communities and Participation Manager – working with residents, partners and the voluntary sector to develop and promote initiatives which support more people becoming more active and developing partnerships to support play, sport, physical activity and the arts across the borough.
Slough is so diverse with unique and common challenges which make me want to stay and work towards making this place even better than it is.
The teams we work in and with are great, the people are supportive and the flexibility is welcoming especially if you have children.
The council is a great place to work, a place where you make friends for life and opportunities are available to progress and develop in your career are created.
Over the years I have had some fantastic opportunities to develop and progress which have included working in partnership with Slough’s vibrant community to develop some fantastic initiatives and projects as well as working with the Home Office, being invited to the Houses of Parliament to work with others across the country tackling and addressing similar issues and the most exciting so far has been attending an evening reception at 10 Downing Street with the Prime Minister and meeting The Queen.
