Dangerous and wild animal licences

The private keeping of certain wild animals is regulated through a licensing scheme.

A licence issued by a local authority is needed for any animals that appear on the Schedule to the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976.

Please email licensing@slough.gov.uk for an application form.

You will need to complete and return the application form with the application fee:

  • Dangerous wild animals: £618

Payment must be made through the council's online payment system. You can pay for more than one licence in a single transaction.

Once an application has been made, an inspection will be carried out by a licensing officer and vet. Please note there will be an additional charge for the vet inspection.

Slough Borough Council has never issued any licences of the following types:

  • Zoos and performing animals
  • Register of Dangerous and wild animal licences
