The Safer Langley initiative was recognised at the Thames Valley Police (TVP) Shrievalty Merit Awards, jointly hosted by TVP and the High Sheriffs of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
On Friday 13 March, representatives from Thames Valley Police, Slough Borough Council and the Home Office, were at Worton Park in Witney for the awards ceremony, which recognises individuals and teams whose work has brought particular credit to Thames Valley Police over the past year.
The Safer Langley team were one of three winners, recognised for their outstanding partnership approach in tackling serious violence and rebuilding trust within the Langley community.
Lisa Spall, the council’s community safety partnership manager, said: “I would like to thank all our partners and the community for the work we have achieved in Langley.”
The High Sheriffs spent time with officers, staff, volunteers and partners from across the three counties and celebrated their achievements.
The other winners were the Citizens in Policing Team and the Justice Gateway Team, with each being chosen for policing rooted in partnership.
