Safer Slough Partnership priorities

The Slough community safety team is working to challenge violence and exploitation for a safer Slough.

The team works in partnership with other organisations to deliver the Safer Slough Partnership's priorities:

Safe Place Scheme

The sticker identifies a business as a place where vulnerable people can seek help should they feel uncomfortable or unsafe when out and about.

Violence against women and girls + men and boys

We are committed to tackling all types of Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) + Boys and Men, as defined by the Home Office's strategy to end VAWG, this includes issues such as:

  • Female genital mutilation (FGM)
  • Honour Base Abuse
  • Domestic Abuse

Modern slavery

Modern slavery is an umbrella term that encompasses the offences of human trafficking and slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, as defined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015Modern slavery frequently involves multiple victims, offenders and places; it is often hidden and may take place alongside a wide range of abuses and other criminal offences.

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) is a form of sexual abuse. Young people are tricked or forced into taking part in some form of sexual activity in return for something the young person needs or wants, including; affection, money, drugs or accommodation. More information can be found at the Local Safeguarding Children Board's website.

Cyber Crime

Cyber crime is an ‘umbrella’ term for lots of different types of crimes which either take place online or where technology is a means and/or target for the attack.

It is one of the fastest growing criminal activities across the world, and can affect both individuals and businesses.
