Hoarding protocol and toolkit

Hoarding disorder is characterised by accumulation of possessions due to excessive acquisition of or difficulty discarding possessions, regardless of their actual value.

A hoarding protocol and toolkit has been approved by the Health and Social Care Partnership Board, made up of organisations across Slough.

This document:

  • provides information and practical guidance to professionals that work with people that hoard
  • includes resources as well as an assessment tool to manage risks effectively
  • details how professionals can use the multi agency risk tool to mitigate risks and work with colleagues effectively.
