Photo competition Terms & Conditions

  • Prize draws and competitions are only open to UK residents.
  • All photographic entries must have been taken in Slough, Berkshire.
  • Each entry must be submitted under an individual’s name and should be accompanied by details of where and when the photograph was taken.
  • Entrants under the age of 12 years need to have parent or guardian consent to enter.
  • The competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers. Amateur and professional entries will not be judged separately. Employees of WWT and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  • Entrants can enter up to three categories with one photo per category.
  • Closing date for receipt of entries is 20 April at midnight.
  • All entries should be submitted via the online form. If there is an issue with the form, entries can be emailed to shelley.rowley@wwt.org.uk. Entries received via other means cannot be accepted.
  • Images may be digitally enhanced to remove spots or scratches, but not manipulated. Entrants can enhance the picture to make it brighter, clearer, etc, but not manipulate the content. WWT reserve the right to exclude any image they believe may have been excessively treated so as to alter its authenticity.
  • Any photograph that has won a prize in another major photographic competition will be ineligible for entry into the competition.
  • The prize is non-negotiable. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute the prize with other prizes of equal value.
  • There is no cash alternative to the prize, it is not for re-sale and is non-refundable.
  • If you are not able to collect the prize, please allow 28 days for delivery. The promoter accepts no responsibility for the prize being lost, damaged or delayed in the post.
  • The winners will be selected from all eligible entries by a panel of judges from WWT and Slough Borough Council.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
  • The judges reserve the right not to make any award if, in their opinion, none of the entries meet the required standard.
  • If there is any doubt, WWT will decide whether or not a photograph fulfils the competition criteria. If it does not, it will be withdrawn. WWT’s decision is final.
  • A WWT representative will contact those shortlisted by email or telephone (using the details provided at entry) and the winners will be announced at an event in Salt Hill Park on Saturday 12 May.
  • It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary permissions are obtained from any person featured in a photograph.
  • By submitting images you confirm you are the copyright holder and creator of the image and you will be responsible for any claims made by any third party.
  • Copyright will remain with the photographer. However by entering this competition the photographer/entrant agrees to WWT using the images for possible exhibition, publication and/or promotional use, including on its website and social media. WWT accepts no responsibility for the third party dissemination of images shared on social media and other channels that are beyond its control.
  • Entry implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
