Reception applications for entry in September 2025

Children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 should start Reception in September 2025.

The deadline for on-time applications for Slough residents with children starting Reception in 2025 was 15 January 2025 and has now passed. If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 and you missed this deadline, you can still apply through the School admissions late application form for admissions into Reception for the September 2025 intake.

Please note any applications submitted after 15 January 2025 will only be reviewed from 16 April 2025. This is once the on-time applications have been reviewed, and the first round of offers have been given to them.

Applications must be made by a parent or guardian who holds legal parental responsibility for a child. Only one application per child is permitted.

Junior school applications for entry in September 2025

Junior schools provide education for children 7 to 11 years. They cover four school years, Years 3 to 6.

Children born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 and currently in an infant-only school should start Year 3 at a Junior school in September 2025.

The deadline for on-time applications for Slough residents with children in Year 2 moving to Junior school (Year 3) in 2025 was 15 January 2025 and has now passed. If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 and you missed this deadline, you can still apply through the School admissions late application form for admissions into Year 3 for the September 2025 intake.

Reception and Junior school applications for entry in September 2026

Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 should start Reception in September 2026.

Children born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019 and currently in an infant-only school should start Year 3 at a Junior school in September 2026.

Applications for a primary school place in Reception in September 2026 or a Junior school place (Year 3 only) in September 2026 will be open to Slough residents between 1 September 2025 and 15 January 2026. 

Please note parents have to apply to the local authority where they and their child live (as in, where they pay council tax for the property they and their child lives in), even if they wish to be considered for schools in another local authority.
