Important notice: Early payment collected for 1 October 2025 Council Tax Direct Debit

We’re sorry but we, Slough Borough Council, have collected your Council Tax Direct Debit payment one day early by mistake.

Please check your account and if this has affected you, you can ask your bank for a refund (this is called a Direct Debit Indemnity Claim). If you do this, please make the payment for October before your next due date on 1 November 2025.

If you find the payment did not go through then please make a manual payment.

If no payment is made during October, the missed amount will be added to your next payment on 1 November 2025.

You do not need to contact Customer Services.

Thank you for your understanding, and we’re very sorry again for the mistake.

Delay in responding

Due to unexpected issues, we can’t meet our usual 10-day response time. We’re working hard to address your inquiries as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

New text and email messaging service

We are using a new messaging service to contact our customers. This is for yearly reviews on discount and exemptions, bounced directed debits, or to tell you that a payment is due or overdue. If you receive a text message, it will include a unique web address which will ask you to verify yourself by putting in your postcode. The web address will start with https://smsctax.slough.gov.uk/t/ followed by a series of letters and numbers.
