If you are a parent looking after a disabled child and you have Parental Responsibility for that child we would consider you a parent carer.
You can have a Parent Carer Needs Assessment and if are considered eligible we will look at what support we can give you.
As part of the assessment we will consider whether it is appropriate for the parent carer to provide, or continue to provide, care for the disabled child, in the light of the parent carer’s needs for support, other needs and wishes.
