Council tax voice messages
We will send voice messages to you for unpaid or missed payments of council tax.
What to expect so you know it’s genuine
We will contact you through the contact details we have on file. If we have:
- your mobile number, we will voice message and text message you
- your email address, we will email you
- both your mobile number and email, we will send you a voice message, a text message and an email.
Text messages will come from “SloughBC”. Please do not reply back to the text messages, it can't receive texts. You will be asked to verify who you are through this text.
Emails will come from counciltax@mail.ctax.slough.gov.uk. To reply back please use the "Reply" button within the email.

What to expect from the voice message
The script you will get in the voice message will begin with:
Hello this is a call from Slough Borough Council with an important message for Mr Peter Smith.
If you are Mr Peter Smith, please press 1 now to confirm. If you can take a message for Mr Peter Smith, Mr Peter Smith please press 2.
If you are concerned if this call is genuine details on how to contact us can be found at our website www.slough.gov.uk.
If 1 or 2 is selected then the following will be said:
Please note there is an outstanding installment due on your Council Tax account.
If you would like to make a payment now, please pay online at www.slough.gov.uk and select council tax payments to make an online payment.
Alternatively, please press 1 at any time and you will be transferred to an advisor. You are not charged for this call. If you prefer you can call us back on 01753 475111.
Where we have details, we will send you a text message or an email with more information.
To avoid further communications and possible recovery action please act on this now by pressing 1.
