If you are worried about becoming homeless, do not wait until you are homeless to contact us. Our priority is to help you stay in your home.

We provide advice and support tailored to your situation to avoid the stress and difficulties of becoming homeless.

The sooner you talk to us about your situation, the better chance we have of helping you stay in your home.

How we can help

Prevent homelessness

We will work with you to try to help you stay in your home wherever possible. This may include speaking with your landlord, family members, or other people involved in your housing situation.

Financial and housing support

We can help you explore financial support and housing options, including:

  • benefits you may be entitled to
  • Discretionary Housing Payments
  • affordable housing options

Accessing help

Contact us if you are:

  • at risk of becoming homeless within the next 56 days
  • already homeless
  • struggling to find somewhere to live

If you are using Jigsaw for the first time

You will need to register and create an account.

If you already have an account

  1. Select Homeless or at risk
  2. Login using your existing details
  3. When asked which local authoriy you are applying for, select Slough
  4. Choose Homeless Reduction Act application to complete a full application.

What happens next

After completing the online form, an officer will contact you the next working day to arrange an appointment.

We will carry out an initial assessment to understand your situation and determine if you are eligible for housing assistance

Documents you may need to produce

We will ask you to provide us with the following information and documents:

  • identity documents for you and your household. This should be your UK passport or birth certificate
  • proof of your immigration or residence status from the Home Office if you are not a British or Irish citizen
  • your address history for the last five years
  • proof of income and any savings, such as pay slips or benefit letters
  • medical information if you have any health conditions
