A list of the items you can dispose of at the Chalvey Household Waste Recycling Centre and their cost.

DIY waste

Councils must provide household waste recycling centres for residents to recycle and dispose of household waste free of charge. Repairs and alterations to households or waste from landscaping and garden alterations are classed as construction and demolition waste and so, a charge can be made for their disposal.

DIY waste from small scale projects carried out by the householder themselves can be brought to the Chalvey Household Waste and Recycling Centre up to 4 times in any 4 week period. Beyond this, you will be charged

You can dispose of the following for free:

• two 50 litre bags worth of DIY waste (standard size black sack) or
• one large item of DIY waste (2m x 0.75m x 0.7m) (about the size of a bath tub or a shower screen).

These are examples of the total amount. Smaller bags or broken up waste can be disposed of but site staff have the final decision on what is accepted.

You can pay onsite by card payments only. You cannot deposit any items before you have paid.

The plasterboard skip is located in the Waste Transfer Station. Waste Transfer Station opening times for residents.

Tiles, wood and other materials should be removed from the plasterboard before disposal.
