How to apply

If you would like the council to consider buying your property, please complete the online property buy back enquiry form.

You will need to provide us with the following information:

  1. The owner (s) names.
  2. The owner (s) correspondence address
  3. State that the owner(s) wishes to dispose of the property.
  4. Give the full postal address of the property being sold.
  5. In relation to the property:
    (i) specify whether the property is a house, a flat or a maisonette;
    (ii) specify the number of bedrooms;
    (iii) give details of the heating system;
    (iv) specify any improvements or structural changes which have been made
    (v) property attributes: (e.g. disabled access, garden, garage, living room)

This information will be used to assess your application and we will then acknowledge we have received the request within 5 days.

Our valuations team will contact you directly to arrange an appointment to value the property.

We will then contact you within 8 weeks with a decision confirming if the council wishes to purchase or decline your property.

You may wish to seek independent legal advice regarding the sale of your property.
