Please note it is your responsibility to read and fully understand the statutory requirements for the licence you are applying for. Failure to comply with the regulations may lead to the licence being revoked and/or prosecution:

Wage

There is no minimum wage for a child under 16 years.

Restrictions

Children are only allowed to model or perform for a set number of hours per day.

All performances

Age 0-4 year olds 5-8 year olds 9 year olds and over
Can work between: 7am and 10pm 7am and 11pm 7am and 11pm
Maximum time at venue 5 hours 8 hours 9.45 hours
Maximum performance time 2 hours 3 hours 5 hours
Maximum continuous time without a break 30 minutes 2.5 hours 2.5 hours
Minimum intervals for meals and rest Any breaks must be a minimum of 15 minutes. A 45 minute meal break must be taken if they are at the performance venue for more than 4 hours Any breaks must be a minimum of 15 minutes. A 45 minute meal break must be taken if they are at the performance venue for more than 4 hours but less than 8 hours. If over 8 hours then must have break already stated plus additional 15 minute break Any breaks must be a minimum of 15 minutes.
