The Planning application validation requirements gives a full list of the supporting documentation required for making all types of planning application. It includes:
- householder planning applications for works to single residential dwelling houses
- the local validation list, which gives the complete planning application validation requirements for all types of planning application.
- individual validation requirements lists for major and minor applications, change of use applications, advertisements, works to listed buildings, and certificates of lawful development
- guidance for all other types of application submitted through the planning service, including post permission submissions, prior approval applications and works to protected trees.
Each entry in the local validation list will indicate the typical likelihood of an item being required when submitting a planning application. An item will be:
- always required or
- often required or
- not required.
Please note as these checklists are here for guidance purposes only and cannot account for every scenario, cross-reference should always be made to the full list of requirements and the links to further advice contained in the full list.
All plans must be at a recognisable metric scale and the recommended scale is stated. All plans must include a scale bar for digital measuring purposes. A Schedule of Drawings List is encouraged with all planning applications, but particularly major development proposals.
