Why?
A public consultation was held in Autumn 2016 proposing a single option for the scheme – the introduction of a bus gate and width restriction near the Punch Bowl corner of Bath Road / Poyle Road.
Following the public consultation in Autumn 2016, Slough Borough Council reviewed the responses from the consultation and investigated the alternative options for the scheme.
The aim is to reduce traffic levels on Poyle Road / Bath Road, improving the environment for all.
We believe the measures will:
- reduce HGV movements through predominantly residential areas
- divert HGVs along roads more suitable to their needs
- reduce the problems currently experienced in the layby south of Mathisen Way
- ensure bus routes and journey times are not impacted
- improve road safety in the area.
