Remembrance Sunday

The Mayor, Councillor Mohammed Nazir will be leading the annual Act of Remembrance on Sunday 14 November.

This will commence in the Town Square and conclude at the War Memorial at St. Mary’s Church, Church Street, Slough. 

The approximate timetable for the morning is:

  • 10.40am - Assemble in the Town Square, High Street, Slough
  • 10.45am - The Welcome
  • 10.50am - Opening Prayer
  • 10.55am - Reading of “In Flanders Fields”
  • 11am - The Act of Remembrance – Two minutes silence
  • 11.05am - Process to St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Slough                                        
  • 11.15am - Procession arrives at St Mary’s Church
  • 11.25am - Mayor inspects cadets
  • 11.30am - Wreath Laying Ceremony commences

In the event of inclement weather (pouring rain), there will be no activities in the Town Square and the Service will commence at 10.50am at the War Memorial at St Mary’s Church. Due to Covid, only invited guests will be permitted to attend the War Memorial to lay their wreaths. The Wreath Laying Ceremony at the War Memorial will take place whatever the weather conditions.
