The council’s planning team is seeking resident comments on its Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
The SCI sets out how the council will involve local communities, businesses and other stakeholders in the preparation and review of planning policy and the consideration of planning applications.
It is a crucial document that ensures residents have a voice in decisions that affect their communities.
The SCI details a range of consultation methods, including online consultation portal, and social media engagement. The first SCI was adopted in 2006, and it needs updating to meet the latest regulations, changes in national planning policy and guidance.
The revised SCI, once adopted, will replace the current SCI.
The council is committed to making the SCI accessible to all, including those with disabilities and those who may not have access to technology.
Councillor Paul Kelly, lead member for Planning, Parking, Highways and Transport, said: “We would encourage residents to take a look at the SCI and review the consultation methods suggested. Your input is valuable in shaping the future of our community.”
Hard copies of the document will be available at:
- the council offices, Observatory House, 25 Windsor Road, Slough, SL1 2EL during normal opening hours
- the council’s libraries in Langley, Britwell, Cippenham and The Curve, during normal opening hours.
