Cllr Puja Bedi, lead member for children & lifelong learning said: “GCSE results day marks a significant milestone for young people in our borough.
"As a council, we wish all our students the best for the next stage of their lives.
“I would like to thank our dedicated teachers and support staff who empower our students to reach their full potential. Moments like these highlight the vital impact of your guidance, motivation, and commitment on our young people throughout their academic journey.
“Slough continues to deliver good results, consistently demonstrating a high standard of education across our diverse community.
“This year the percentage of students achieving grade 4 or above in English and Maths has decreased slightly from 73.5% to 68.2%, and the percentage achieving grade 5 or above in English and Maths has decreased from 60.7% to 53.3%. We hope to build on these results next year.
“It is our priority to continue working in partnership with schools and to support them in every way possible to ensure that students perform at their best.”
