An update from First Bus.
Bus passengers in Slough and Buckinghamshire will benefit from enhanced services thanks to Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding from Slough Borough Council and Buckinghamshire Council, delivered in partnership with First Bus in Berkshire.
From 28 September, bus passengers in Slough and Berkshire will benefit from:
- additional peak-time journeys Monday to Friday, making it easier for students and commuters to travel to schools and workplaces
- later evening journeys Monday to Saturday, with buses running from Slough until 23:00 and from Uxbridge until 23:45, improving access to leisure and work opportunities.
These enhancements will also provide better connectivity with TFL (Transport for London) services, offering passengers more flexibility and choice when planning their journeys.
Councillor Paul Kelly, lead member for planning, parking, highways and transport at slough Council, said: "These extended timings are a great addition to our bus service programme in Slough and with improved connections to TfL services, it makes travel more convenient and flexible. We want to encourage the use of public transport and active travel, where possible, so I hope residents, commuters and students find these new options beneficial.”
Thomas Broom, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Transport at Buckinghamshire Council said "We’re pleased to be delivering these enhancements to route 3 in collaboration with First Bus and Slough Borough Council. The introduction of more buses during peak hours and extended evening services will offer real benefits to passengers in the Iver area, with more frequent links to both the Elizabeth Line and Metropolitan Line.
"This is a positive moment for bus travel in Buckinghamshire, as we continue working closely with local bus operators to make bus journeys a more appealing and accessible choice for residents. These improvements are a win for all, providing passengers with greater flexibility, helping to reduce road congestion, and supporting the council’s wider goal of promoting sustainable transport across the county. Additional service upgrades are also planned for other areas later this year."
