Slough Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead continue their commitment to supporting their residents’ wellbeing by providing access to free online resources for carers.
Caring for a loved one who is ill, disabled, or an older person, can be valuable and rewarding, but without the right support, caring can have an impact on your life.
Adult Social Care teams in both boroughs have joined up with Carers UK to give you access to essential resources to help make caring easier.
The Carers UK platform offers a range of digital products and online resources including:
- practical learning and guidance for carers through e-learning and videos
- free publications including guides and covering information topics
- helpful resources, tools, and links to local services
- help with contingency planning
- a forum to speak to other carers.
Access to the offer is designed to be straightforward – simply visit carersdigital.org and use code RBWM-SLOUGH to create a free account and use the online resources.
The offer also includes free access to Jointly - the care co-ordination app, where you can create a circle of care for the person you are looking after. Once you have set up your Jointly circle you can start using Jointly to organise care. You can track medication, tasks, and appointments. As well as securely communicating with other people involved in your circle of care such as family, neighbours, and health professionals.
The code to access Jointly for free is the same one as the website: RBWM-SLOUGH
Cllr Anna Wright, lead member for adult social care, said: “Thank you to everyone involved in this project. Making our hardworking unpaid carers’ lives that little bit easier is a priority for me and this free access to both the digital Carers UK platform and the Jointly app will do just that.
