New domestic abuse support provider

A new provider will be offering domestic abuse support in Slough from 1 October.

Cranstoun will take over from the existing provider, Hestia, to provide this essential and valued service.

Cranstoun is a social justice charity founded in 1969 to support people in the areas of domestic abuse, criminal justice, substance use, housing and young peoples’ wellbeing.

Cranstoun offer a support service for adults aged 16 plus who are victim/survivors of domestic abuse.

They offer an Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA) service, an outreach service and victim/survivor support programmes.

These are available to victims and survivors of domestic abuse regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief or sexual orientation.

To get in touch with Cranstoun for advice and support, call 01753 251218.

Councillor Ejaz Ahmed, lead member for communities, sport, leisure and public protection, said: “No one should be suffering from domestic abuse, but in reality, there are too many people experiencing it, and that includes in our town. Having the expertise of Cranstoun on hand for domestic abuse support is very positive.

“If you need to talk about what’s happening to you, ask questions, get some advice or just to know a friendly listening ear is ready and waiting, call Cranstoun.”

Katie Lloyd, Head of Victim/Survivor Services at Cranstoun, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the contract to deliver domestic abuse services in Slough. At Cranstoun, we believe everyone deserves a life free from domestic abuse, and we look forward to working closely with Safer Slough Partnership to support people across the area to live safer, happier lives.”

The range of services include:

  • assessment, support and safety planning for victim/survivors of domestic abuse
