A 20mph speed limit is proposed for 35 roads in Colnbrook to help alleviate local concerns over speeding and a consultation has opened today (Friday).
Since 2022, the Colnbrook Community Association, local Councillors and the Parish Council have been communicating with the council’s transport team to explore ways to introduce a 20mph speed limit scheme in Colnbrook.

Traffic calming measures are also proposed on Horton Road, as residents have raised concerns about vehicle speeds in the area.
A speed survey was undertaken to assess current driver behaviour and the results showed 85% of vehicles were travelling more than the 30mph speed limit.
The council is proposing the installation of traffic calming measures such as speed humps and rumble strips, and vehicle-activated signage to improve compliance, reinforce speed awareness and improve overall road safety for residents and other road users.
These would be introduced on Horton Road, in the section starting from 50m of its junction with Popes Close, towards its junction with Bath Road/ Colnbrook High Street.
Councillor Paul Kelly, lead member for planning, parking, highways and transport, said: “These proposals will address concerns locals have had for many years and make it safer for those who live, work and travel through Colnbrook.
“I urge people who use these roads and would be affected by the speed limit change and traffic calming measures to have their say by going to the consultation webpage and completing the survey.”
The consultation is open from 7 November to 28 November.
Following the consultation, officers will review the consultation feedback and if there are no objections, the works will be introduced under a permanent traffic regulation order.
