Renewal of the SPZ

This page is for information and evidence only as the new SPZ was adopted on 12 November 2014

Slough Borough Council working with SEGRO has published a Draft Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ) for Slough Trading Estate for consultation. The existing SPZ is due to expire in 2014.

The SPZ grants advance planning permission for certain types of development such as data centres, warehouses and industrial buildings within a designated area over a period of 10 years. It will run from 2014 to 2024. The new SPZ will allow buildings for data centres, warehouses and industrial units to be built at a range of heights from 7m to 23m in selected locations in the Trading Estate that meet the conditions set out .Once the SPZ is adopted it effectively has planning permission, there is no opportunity to be consulted on the individual proposals.

The consultation period has now closed.

A report of the SPZ consultation will be taken to Commitee in June 2014.

Copies of the consultation and representation documents are available to download:
