Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment Consultation

What is a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)?

A PNA looks at what pharmaceutical services (like pharmacies) are needed in an area.

It helps the NHS and local authorities:

  • Decide if new pharmacies are needed
  • Review and plan changes to existing pharmacy services

PNAs must be updated every three years. We are now consulting on the draft PNA for 2025-2028.

Why your feedback matters?

Earlier this year, we asked residents how they use local pharmacies. Your feedback helped us shape the draft version of this plan.

Now we want to hear what you think about:

  • The findings in the draft PNA
  • Whether pharmacy services meet local needs
  • Any gaps or improvements you would like to see.

What does the draft PNA include?

The draft document is based on:

  • The health needs of people in Slough
  • The number and type of pharmacies in the area
  • Public and stakeholder feedback
  • Research and data about current services.
