Healthy Walks

Healthy walks

A new healthy walks programme is being developed.

As part of the ‘Walking for Health’ initiative Active Slough coordinate volunteer led health walks every week. Across the UK the Walking for Health network have over 1,800 weekly walks and around 8,300 friendly, welcoming, trained volunteers who lead these walks each week. Walking is a sociable, free, enjoyable way to stay active. Not only does a one hour walk help you achieve the recommended 150 minutes of activity each week, but it also improves muscles strength, joint mobility, bone density, and physical and mental wellbeing.

The walks in Slough are all volunteer led and are free to attend. We run regular training courses to upskill individuals who would like to be involved the leading on a health walk.
