Neighbourhood enforcement

The neighbourhood enforcement team aims to:

  • protect public health
  • tackle enviro-crime and anti-social behaviour
  • enhance the quality of life for the people who live and work in Slough.

Customer charter

Providing excellent customer services is one of our key priorities. In order to achieve this we will always:

  • be polite, friendly and offer a helpful service
  • take the time to listen and explain things
  • provide accurate information and advice, in a clear and straightforward way
  • deal with enquiries immediately, but if this is not possible, tell you who we have passed your enquiry to and give you their contact details
  • keep you informed of progress with our investigations
  • treat you fairly and with respect.

Customer Pledge

We aim to provide every customer with a quality service and will seek feedback from you to help further improve the quality of the services we provide. A manager will contact you personally if you are unhappy with the service received.

We have introduced the following standards against which we will monitor the responsiveness of our service:

Where private land is found to be attracting vermin, enforcement notices will be served on land owners requiring treatment 2 working days

Flytipping hotspots shall be patrolled

Twice a week
Enforcement action shall be taken against owners of private land within 2 working days of waste being found on their land and the person responsible identified 2 working days
Once a littering offender is identified, issuing an FPN 5 working days
Legal notice shall be served on all responsible private householders with surcharging/blocked private sewers 1 working day
When an abandoned vehicle is reported to us, we shall visit to confirm that the car is in fact abandoned and authorise our contractor to remove it day. 1 working day
We shall respond to requests for consultation on planning and licensing applications 21 working days
Where an empty property is reported to us we undertake to visit the site

1 working day,
enforcement within 3 working days       

A visit shall be made to sites where syringe needles are reported 1 working day
We shall report all sites where drug and sex paraphernalia are found to the Drug and Alcohol Action Team. 1 working day
Respond to noise complaints 5 working days
Respond to reports of stray dogs 1 working day
Respond to animal welfare issues 1 working day
