Youth Voice team in Slough

The Youth Voice team helps young people have a say in decisions that affect them and their community. We create meaningful opportunities for you to:

  • share your views and shape local services
  • take part in projects that make a difference
  • develop leadership skills and confidence
  • be active citizens in Slough and beyond.

We work with young people aged 11 to 19, or up to 25 if you are a care leaver or have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). View our latest Youth Voice annual report.

What we do

We run a range of groups and events where young people can lead, influence and take action:

  • Slough Youth Parliament: represent your peers, stand for election, and see your local representatives’ manifestos.
  • Slough Young Inspectors: check and review services for young people. View the August 2023 inspection report.
  • Slough Young Commissioners: work with adults to decide how services and projects are planned and delivered.
  • Slough Youth Awards: celebrate young people making a difference in our town. Nominate someone in one of six award categories.
  • Rise Up Participation Conference: an annual event where young people come together to share ideas. View the September 2024 conference report.
  • Slough Young People’s Question Time: held three times a year in partnership with Together As One, giving you the chance to put questions directly to decision makers.

Get involved

If you’re a young person in Slough, we want you to get involved and change your community by:

  • taking part in one of our groups or events
  • helping shape local services
  • gaining skills and experience
  • making your voices heard.

We also welcome support from sponsors and partners.
