Warm Homes: Local Grant Scheme – How to apply

A pre-assessment will be carried by a qualified assessor out through a survey of the property, household income and health inequalities check, which may mean some applications cannot be supported and funds are fully allocated.

Please note: this scheme has several processes that the Council must follow and complete in line with government guidance.  Your application can take several months to complete.

If successful, your the Delivery Partner will contact applicants within 3 months.

How long do I have to apply?

Applications are open until funding runs out.

After applying, we will:

  1. review your eligibility
  2. arrange a home visit with a retrofit assessor
  3. recommend the best energy-saving measures
  4. conduct a technical survey
  5. start the works once you application is approved.

How do I prove my household income?

You may be asked to provide one or more of the following:

  • payslips, P60s, or benefit letters
  • bank statements (if no other proof is available)
  • mortgage statement or tenancy agreement
  • Council Tax bill.

Who can apply on your behalf

Someone else can apply for you, such as:

  • a friend
  • a family member
  • a carer
  • a landlord.

You must give your permission and provide their contact details.

How to apply

Apply online through the government website: apply for the Warm Homes: Local Grant – GOV.UK

If your application is successful you will not need to repay the grant.

Once work is completed you will be asked to:

  • sign a document to confirm the work has been completed
  • allow access for inspections or any post-installation work.
