Stalking
Stalking is when someone gives you unwanted attention that happens more than once and causes you fear, anxiety or distress.
It is a criminal offence under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997
Examples of stalking include:
- Repeatedly following someone
- Trying to contact them (calls, texts, messages, emails etc.)
- Posting personal information about them online
- Watching or tracking their activity online or in real life
- Hanging around their home, workplace or places they visit
- Damaging or interfering with their belongings or property
- Sending unwanted gifts, letters or messages.
