Slough Learning Disability Partnership Board is a group including and working improve the lives of

  • people with a learning disability
  • and their families, and their carers.

The group also includes professionals working in health and social care.

Do you have a learning disability? Are you a carer or family member to someone with a learning disability? We invite you to join and shape the future of Learning Disability Services in Slough, by joining the board.

The board has several aims including:

  • promoting independence
  • improving access to good quality care and support
  • employment, training, and skills.

So, what does the Slough Learning Disability Partnership do?

  • Making sure services for people with learning disabilities in Slough are good quality.
  • Helps make decisions and makes recommendations about new services,
  • Creates and shares information about services available.
  • Promotes the rights of people with a learning disability, their families, and carers.

What is the commitment?

The board meets once every three months. We ask all members to attend at least two meetings per year.

How do we support people with a learning disability during meetings?

  • Having people to provide support during the meeting to ensure they have a voice.
  • Using simple language, not jargon.
  • Having extra support after the meetings to discuss specific topics.
