The new garden waste collection service started on the 28 November 2022. There are delays with stickers (to stick on your bin to show you have subscribed) arriving, but we are still able to collect from registered properties.
If you want to register/and sign up and pay for this garden waste collection service, this needs to be done at least one week before your next scheduled collection date for us to be able to collect on that date.
Changes to garden waste collections
On 28 November 2022, Slough’s garden waste (green bin) collection service changed from a general service to a paid-for subscription service.
If you have a green bin and want to use this new service
- Please register/and sign up and pay for the new garden waste collection service for just £50 for the whole year.
- If you need to register, once you've done that you will need to search for "garden waste" to come back to this page to get back to the new garden waste collection service form.
- You do not need to purchase another green bin.
- The scheme year runs from 28 November 2022 to 30 November 2023 and you should receive:
- collections once a fortnight, except for a two week Christmas break
- a sticker, in the post, to place on your bin to show you have subscribed.
If you don't have a green bin and want to use this new service
- You can register/and sign up and pay for the new garden waste collection service for £50 for the whole year. However you will also need to purchase a bin at a cost of £45.
- If you need to register, once you've done that you will need to search for "garden waste" to come back to this page to get back to the new garden waste collection service form.
- If you do not wish to purchase a bin, you may wish to check if a neighbour still wants their green bin or if you can share the bin, however you will still be required to subscribe using the online form.
If you use the current garden waste service but do not want to subscribe to this new service
- You don’t need to do anything. However, if you present your green bin and you have not subscribed it will not be collected.
- We are not collecting back green bins which residents no longer want to use so please:
- keep it on your property or
- you are welcome to drop the green bin off at Chalvey Waste and Recycling Centre.
- And if you change your mind, you can register/and sign up and pay for the new garden waste collection service at any point during the year.

Our Chalvey Household Waste and Recycling Centre continues to take garden waste free of charge. Our residents are welcome to use this service.
