Welcome to Slough libraries

Everyone is welcome to visit our libraries at Britwell, Cippenham, Langley and The Curve to relax with a book in a comfortable space, take part in an activity, use the study space or enjoy free wi-fi.

If you sign up for a library membership through our Spydus website or come into one of the libraries where staff can complete the process with you, you will get a full range of benefits. No documents are required to sign up. Membership is free and its open to all ages. For children aged:

  • under 8 years, their parent, guardian, or adult carer (18+) must do the membership sign up for them
  • 8 years old can sign themselves up for a library membership.

Benefits of being a member of the library

Further services available:

  • Photocopying (charges apply – cash payment only).
  • Books in a range of community languages: Arabic, Gujarati, Hindi, Panjabi, Polish and Urdu.
  • Free activities for all ages – including regular storytimes for pre-school children.
  • Slough Libraries work with children’s reading charity BookTrust to provide dual language books and free book packs for families on a low income. BookTrust also offer downloadable parents’ guides with advice on sharing books with your child. These are available in around 20 different languages.   • Regular ‘Welcome to your library’ tours at The Curve, where library staff can help you find your way around the building and tell you all about the resources and services available.
