What can you use a DPA to pay for?
ou can only use a DPA to pay for the costs of care and not for any other purpose. The costs of care include:
- Care home fees
- Support and rental costs in supported living accommodation
- Any administration fees and other disbursements the council may add to the amount deferred (check the section on ’What will it cost?’).
A DPA cannot be used to pay for additional services a care home may offer. Nor can it be used to pay for mortgage payments on supported living accommodation.
