Polling districts and places review

Notice of review

Notice of Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations

Following the Local Government Boundary Commission for England’s review of the council’s ward arrangements, the number of wards in Slough will increase from 15 to 21 at the next council elections in May 2023.

As a result of the review, the changes to the ward boundaries require alterations to the polling districts within them. In accordance with the requirements of section 18C of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended by section 17 of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013), notice is hereby given that Slough Borough Council will undertake a review of polling districts and the location of polling stations for the use at both national and local elections to mirror the changes to the ward boundaries. Draft proposals for new voting arrangements, and the Acting Returning Officer’s comments, will be available on these pages from 4 January 2023.

The council welcomes proposals and/or comments from any interested person about any aspect of the polling districts or polling places to be used at future elections.

Proposals and comments are particularly sought from disabled residents, and from individual people or interested groups and organisations who have experience in making facilities and premises accessible, particularly for disabled people.

Anyone commenting on the suitability of existing or proposed polling places is asked to provide suggestions for alternative venues, where possible, to assist the review process.

Comments and representations can be sent to Electoral Services until 18 January 2023:

  • By post: Polling Review, Electoral Services, Observatory House, 25 Windsor Road, Slough SL1 2EL
  • By email: ballotbox@slough.gov.uk

Please note that all proposals and comments received will be published and available to view on the council’s website at the conclusion of the review.

Proposals will also be available to view in person, by appointment. To make an appointment please email ballotbox@slough.gov.uk
