Holiday Activities and Food Programme

Join in the fun at Summer 4-4-4!

The Department for Education (DfE) is providing funding to local authorities to coordinate a programme that provides healthy food and enriching activities to school aged children eligible for free school meals during the 2021 Summer and Christmas holidays. It will of course be optional for eligible children to attend this provision if they wish.

Children will be able to access no more than four; 4-hour sessions, 4 days a week over 4 weeks throughout the summer holidays, all activities are inclusive at no cost to families. The sessions will include a variety of fun activities, including sports, music, arts and other exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills, alongside a nutritious meal each day.

Letters will be sent out to all families with eligible children at the end of June 2021 and parents will need to contact their preferred provider directly to book a place.

The HAF programme is also open to fee-paying families who can sign up to the scheme by contacting their chosen provider. Some fee-paying families may be able to claim back up to 85% of their childcare costs. Please visit: Help With Childcare Costs to find out more.

Slough Borough Council is working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to provide the HAF programme.

Marcus Rashford MBE is calling on parents to sign up their children to the Government’s expanded Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF), which supports children with food and activities over school holidays. HAF 2021 | End Child Food Poverty.
