Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)
The Safer Slough Partnership’s violence against women and girls+ strategy brings together key actions from the national VAWG strategy. It includes research carried out locally within Slough, into four keys areas of focus.
The focus areas are:
- education and awareness
- provision of services
- community and partnership working
- changing the behaviour of perpetrators.
The VAWG+ strategy has been developed by using the national VAWG strategy, in combination with localised research. This includes the Imkaan and Warwick University report and contextual findings generated from semi-structured interviews, held with multi-agency practitioners working with victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse.
The action plan that sits beneath the strategy will contain a range of activities and projects which will focus on the evidence gathered from both national and local research.
