In Slough your child will attend a primary school between the ages of four or five and 11. Children transfer to secondary school when they are 11.
Applying online
You can now apply for your child's primary and secondary school place online instead of completing a paper form.
The benefits of applying online are:
- it is quick and easy to use
- you can apply from home 24 hours a day, seven days a week (or use the library, internet café, some schools may make their ITC suite available to you)
- there is no risk that your application will be lost in the post
- you will receive email confirmation that your application has been received
- you can change your application up to midnight on the closing date
- the result of your application will be available online later in the year.
Applying for an infant or primary school place for reception year entry
You can apply online for a reception year place for an infant or primary school for September entry, so long as:
- you apply when applications for the transfer group are being accepted
- you live in Slough and
- your child will reach the age of five between 1 September and 31 August.

The online application process for year 7 places at secondary school for September 2012 entry is now closed.
Admission arrangements 2012 - 2013
The admission arrangements for the 2012/2013 academic year have now been agreed. There have not been a lot of changes from the 2011/2012 admissions policies which are available in the parent's guide booklets for entry to primary and secondary schools.
