Applying for an infant or primary school place for reception year entry

Starting school in Slough

If you are a resident of Slough Borough Council and you have a child whose date of birth is on or between 1 September 2008 - 31 August 2009, then you will be required to apply for a primary school place for the 2013-2014 academic year. This application needs to be made by 15 January 2013. You must only apply through Slough Borough Council if you are a Slough Borough Council resident.

If you are not a resident of Slough Borough Council you will need to apply through your Home Authority. You will still be able to apply for Slough Borough Council schools through your home Authority.

Applying for a secondary school place for year 7 entry

Starting secondary school in Slough

If your child is 11 between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013, they will start secondary education in September 2013.You must apply for entry to a Secondary school through your home authority. Slough Borough Council residents can apply for non-Slough schools on our application form. The Secondary Admissions Guide, along with the relevant application form, is automatically issued to Slough residents whose children attend Slough Borough Council schools and are due to transfer at the end of the academic year.

Applying online - Reception place

You can apply online for a reception year place for an infant or primary school for September 2013 entry, so long as:

  • you apply from the 1 December 2012 to 23:59 on 15 January 2013
  • you live in Slough and
  • your child was born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009. 

Applying online - year 7 place

You can apply online for a year 7 place for Secondary school for September 2013 entry, so long as:

  • you apply from 1 September 2012 to 23:59 on 31 October 2012
  • you live in Slough and
  • your child is 11 between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013.

You cannot apply on line for entry to any other year, please contact the school or Slough Borough Council Admissions Team directly.

  • you can apply from home 24 hours a day, seven days a week (or use the library, internet café, some schools may make their ITC suite available to you)
  • there is no risk your application will be lost in the post
  • you will receive email confirmation that your application has been received
  • you can change your application up to midnight on the closing date
  • the result of your application will be available online later in the year.
